Search the ExpressionEngine User Guide with Safari & Inquisitor

For all those Safari users that would like to search the ExpressionEngine User Guide from the browser search bar, help is at hand!

With the power if Inquisitor, you can now setup a ‘search engine’ to do what the OpenSearch plugin does.

1. Download and install Inquisitor 3
2. Go to Preferences for Safari
3. Find and click on the Search Button at the top right

4. Click on the ‘Edit Sites’ button in the bottom right

5. Click on the plus sign in the bottom left and then from the menu click “New custom search shortcut...” option
6. Enter a name for your ‘Search Engine’ such as ‘EE User Guide’
7. Enter this URL - “http://www.google.com/search?q=site:expressionengine.com/docs/+%@”
8. Click ‘Done’
9. Type in a search term such as ‘Weblog’
